Hope in Action
We want to practically help other people by teaching literacy, maths, computing, life and business skills to empower them to break their cycle of poverty by gaining employment and to ultimately bring HOPE.
Phase one of the project is completed. We have purchased land and converted the restaurant into a church. The church has opened and local people are able to worship and find community together.
We have also opened a community shop which is currently selling football boots, trainers and clothes. In the future we would like to sell food and creative products which are made within the project.
Phase two has commenced. So far we have built the foundations and walls of four training units. These will be used to teach Literacy, maths and computing. They will also house a commercial kitchen, a laundrette and a sewing unit.
Phase three of the project is to build three self-contained compartments on the top of the training units. We are aiming to house volunteers and tourists in these. All profits will go back into the project to pay for teaching staff and future equipment and resources.
HOPE for Ghana exists to bring practical, sustainable change. We co-produce everything with the local community. We are creating training programmes together .
Our goal is simple; Equip people with real, employable skills so they can move from informal to formal employment.
